Journeyman Automotive Mechanic

Straightline Kia is currently looking to hire a certified red seal journeyman automotive mechanic immediately. 

We are a team driven environment with the willingness to learn and succeed together.

Hourly commitment will be 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday with a 4 – 5 week Saturday 4 hour shift rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all aspects of automotive diagnosis, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Monitor and complete job assignments within PBS.
• Complete estimates, invoicing, and maintain accurate reporting and documentation on work that is performed.
• Mentor and provide training with technician apprentices as required.
• Willing to go that extra mile when work loads are demanding.
• Maintain a clean work bay area.

Qualifications:

• Alberta Certified Journeyperson or Red Seal Automotive Service Technician
• 1-3 years experience with import engines/vehicles.
• Kia experience is considered a strong asset.
• Experience with all wheel drive is required.
• Excellent problem-solving, organization and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong ability to work well independently and within a diverse workforce.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Complete all work in compliance with legislation, regulations and site policies and procedures.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a satisfactory abstract.
• Submit a 5-year driver’s abstract that is not more than 30 days old.

• Hourly rate $33.00 per hour with additional hours available when required.
